Our teen years are spent worrying and fretting about things that simply don't matter. As we reach our twenties, I feel that we look back on our past and think "Why did I waste time worrying or being upset about that?". From being confident in yourself to make up disasters, I hope you enjoy reading the things I have come to realise or learnt before reaching 20.
1. If you want that extra piece of cake, eat the damn cake!
2. Cutting your own hair is never a smart move, unless you know how.
3. Spots and stretch marks are normal, don't be ashamed of them.
4. Don't feel you have to like something because it's "cool".
5. Wear whatever the heck you want!
6. If you don't do great in your exams, it's ok, there is always an alternative.
7. Periods are a life ruiner but Cura-Heat pads are a must (and lots of junk food).
8. Spend time with your parents, they are growing old whilst you are too.
9. Money means a lot, be grateful for every present you receive.
10. eBay is amazing for cheap necessities.
11. The correct shade of foundation will make the world of difference.
12. Treat people how you want to be treated.
13. Christmas will ALWAYS bring out your inner child.
14. Listen to your parents and wear a bloody coat, you'll thank them later.
15. Collection's Lasting Perfection Concealer is a make up bag essential.
16. Take advantage of meal deals, they save you so much money!
17. A trend you thought was ugly when you were younger will come back around.
18. Don't feel pressured to know what career you want, you do you!
19. Student discount is a wonderful thing, even if you're not a student.
and finally...
20. PUT THE TWEEZERS DOWN.
Is there anything you have come to learn as you were growing up? I'd love to hear it!
Great list! Cutting my own hair was seriously one of the most stupid things I've ever done! :)

Me too, I'd be lost without a coat now! x
DeleteAwww I loved this post! And now that I am 30, the list gets even longer! I was so scared about turning 30, but actually is the best I have ever felt about myself and I'm actually proud of my achievements (something I never really was before, I was always so hard on myself!). And after a fringe disaster in my early teens, I learned NEVER TO CUT MY HAIR!!

Well hopefully in another ten years time I'll have another list to write. ;) xx
DeleteI wish someone had told me never to cut my own hair! When I was in high school I thought "what's so hard about cutting layers? The people at the salon do it in 10 minutes flat and charge so much, I can do it too!" I couldn't do it. I couldn't do it at all!
ReplyDeleteLoved reading this! Hope there are more posts like this to come. :)

Yeah, you know how everybody has a haircutting disaster story? When mine happened, I was 23. Living in Edinburgh as a post-grad student and thought I'd save myself some money by cutting my own fringe, even though I knew my weird arch thing had gotten the better of many a talented hairdresser over the years. It was SO BAD that the next time I saw a hairdresser, he told me that no matter how skint I was he would cut my fringe for free rather than risk me doing that to myself again.
ReplyDeleteTen years on, and I've never touched it again.
Lis / last year's girl x
I love this post so much! Can agree with every single one now I'm nearly 21! Wish someone could have told me all these things 5 years ago!
ReplyDeleteI especially like Number 14! Why did I never want to wear a coat?! haha
