What I Wear on my Face

Over the years I have found myself constantly switching up my make-up routine and trying way too many products to keep count of. Recently, I have discovered a routine that works for me, as well as a variety of products that I now couldn't live without.

Benefit Hoola // £23.50

Out of all of the Naked Palettes, I feel the tones of the original one suit me best. For a neutral, day to day look I use 'Sin' as a base, then taking 'Naked' and 'Buck' I blend them out into my crease to create a subtle, smoky look. I use 'Virgin' on the inner corners and underneath to make the eyes appear brighter, therefore making me look less sleep deprived and more awake.

Benefit's Hoola bronzer has been used in my make-up routine every time since the moment I got it. It's my go to bronzer as it makes contouring SO much easier due to the perfect colour and pigmentation. Before now I could never find a shade that would suit me as they were either too orange toned for my skin or too dark and "muddy". I feel that the Hoola bronzer matches a range of skin tones, so if you are after that subtle contour/bronzed look, I would definitely recommend giving it a try!

The Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade has most definitely changed my life (and my brows)! It has the consistency of a gel liner, meaning it is easy to apply which is extremely important, especially if you have never shaped/filled in your brows before. The product allows you to build up the intensity as much or as little as you like and once it's set, your brows will not budge for the rest of the day. P.S, It is also rainproof, just in case you are like me and worry about your brows running down your face on a daily basis due to the British weather.

I never tend to repurchase foundations as I like to mix it up from time to time and try something new, but I will say that I just had to repurchase the L'Oreal Paris True Match! They do a shade to suit almost every skin tone, which is always useful as it can be infuriating trying to find the perfect match. It's long lasting, buildable and leaves my skin looking and feeling flawless (on a good skin day). The only slight negative for this foundation is that it does have a tendency to cling to any dry patches, but I'm yet to find a foundation that doesn't!

Me and the POREfessional used to have a love/hate relationship, but I'm going to put that down to the foundation I wore with it. Now I have a proper skincare routine in place, I can honestly say it's the best primer I have used and struggle to cope when it runs out. It is lightweight and leaves the skin feeling soft and silky, creating a brilliant base for foundation.

As you can probably tell by now, Benefit are my favourite make-up brand as not one product I have tried has disappointed. If you haven't tried the Roller Lash then you are definitely missing out! I first heard about the release of this mascara through all the hype on Twitter at the start of the year surrounding it. I managed to grab the March issue of Elle which came with a mini Roller Lash. The packaging was so cute and I found the mascara wand really intriguing due to it being curved. After the first application I was in love and knew I needed the full sized product ASAP! My eyes look bare without it and I don't think any other mascara I have used will ever match up to it.

For years and years I struggled to find the perfect product to go with my love for winging out my eye liner. I had tried gel, liquid and pencil but nothing was working for me as I could never master how to draw a neat, straight line with them. Then along came eye liner pens, my life was made! The L'Oreal Paris Super Liner will be the only pen for my eyes as it creates the perfect winged eye as well as being easy to control. It is a really intense black and stays in place all day, what else do you need?

  1. Hi Kathyrn!
How do you like the Benefit Roller Lash in comparison to L'oreal Voluminous? I currently use Maybelline's Stiletto for asian lashes!
I also love the Hoola bronzer, it's amazing for that matte bronzer, it's so easy to blend in too! I currently use the Chanel bronzer but I would say the hoola bronzer is quite comparable and much less expensive too.

    1. Hi! I haven't tried any L'Oreal mascaras but I am a big fan of the Maybelline Rocket Volume if I fancy a change from the Roller Lash.
The Hoola is amazing, I could rave about it all day. I used to use a Sleek one and it was far too muddy and difficult to blend! x

  5. The three Benefit products you use are the only ones I'm really lusting after from their range! Particularly Roller Lash, but I can't give up my favourite mascara! Some great picks here, still don't have my hands on any of the Naked palettes though :( x
