What have I been buying?

Over the past month I seem to have accumulated an awful lot of new make up... well not loads but I decided to treat myself as it had been a while since I did a full on make up spree!
I was feeling extremely Autumnal one evening after a bloggers chat (about Autumn) and I was unstoppable, I'm sure most bloggers can relate.

(I'm sorry for the state of my make up palette, I tried everything to stop the fingerprints showing but my lighting was not agreeing with me!)
The bulk of my haul is from Superdrug, but I did do a little eBay make up shopping for the Nyx Lip Cream and LA Splash Cosmetics Lip Couture. Onto the haul!

Having seen and heard about Makeup Revolution for a long time around the bloggersphere, I knew I was going to get my hands on one of their palettes sooner or later. I went for the 'Iconic 3' due to the incredible shimmers, perfect for an AW make up look. If I'm being honest, I wasn't expecting this palette to have the best pigmentation but I was so wrong! This palette has proved to me that you really don't need to spend a lot on high end make up to end up with good quality products. Another thing that surprised me is actually how long lasting the shadows are. As I have quite oily eyelids, I can struggle with finding eye make up that doesn't rub off after an hour or so. After wearing shadows from this palette for a day out, the colours were still in tact and visible on my lids! Amazing.

This highlighter had caught my attention due to the eye-catching product image on the Superdrug website. Low and behold, after a few flick through reviews, it was in my basket. I haven't experimented too much with highlighters and the only other one I own in powder form is one from Sleek. My initial thoughts on this product were that it is much larger than I was expecting! I'm not sure if my photos do it justice but you really do get a whole lot of product for an amazing price. The highlighter itself adds a subtle shimmer, which is obviously buildable, and doesn't leave my skin feeling oily after a couple of hours, something which I have experienced with liquid highlighters. If you're looking for affordable products with great pigmentation, you should definitely check out Makeup Revolution!

Being compared to Nars 'Orgasm' blush, this product clearly had a lot to live up to and it certainly has not disappointed. I am yet to try the 'Orgasm' blush but to be honest, I don't think I need to after trying Sleek's dupe. I have always been a bit wary of pink blushers as they tend to wash me out or turn me into a clown, but not this one! I have been wearing it non stop for the past two weeks and am kicking myself for not buying it sooner. 'Rose Gold' has speckles of gold running through it, leaving a gorgeous shimmer on your cheeks like the name would suggest. I really cannot fault this blush at all, good job Sleek!

Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream 'Copenhagen' // $6
MUA LUXE Whipped Velvet 'Majestic' // £3
MUA LUXE Whipped Velvet 'Chichi' // £3
LA Splash Cosmetics Lip Couture 'Latte Confession' // $14
Rimmel Kate Lipstick 'Shade 3' // £5.49

I feel that I may as well discuss the lip products I have bought altogether as they're all frickin' fab! The lip creams/stains have such a unique formula making them long lasting and comfortable to wear all day long. I decided to stock up on a range of lip colours as I feel my make up collection is missing darker colours, which you know, is an essential for AW.

I decided to pick up the Rimmel Kate lipstick in 'Shade 3' after reading my lovely friend Tore's blog post all about 'Velvet Teddy' dupes! I use my MAC 'Velvet Teddy' like there's no tomorrow so I thought picking up a dupe would maybe stop me using it as much, saving me money in the long run and all that. There is virtually no difference colour wise between the two, something that I plan to discuss in a post in the near future.

What make up bits have you purchased recently? Have you used any that I have featured?

    1. I've only recently got into the lip creams but since I love Stockholm and London so much, I thought I'd branch out into a darker shade. Copenhagen is a lovely dark lip colour but still has the berry tones making it very wearable. x

    1. Yeah I know what you mean about the MUA ones, I find the matte ones are much better but the colours are limited. The LA Splash one is actually quite drying after wearing it a few times, I'll have to figure out a way round that.
