OOTD #1 | The Shirt Dress

Welcome to the first of hopefully many OOTD posts... I say posts as opposed to describing it as a series as that makes me feel like I have to commit, something that puts me under a lot of pressure. I want things to be fun round here, so whilst you may not see me sat behind the computer in scruffy pyjamas with hair like a mad professor, trust me, a stressed Kat is not a pretty one. Time to take Chapters of Kat into the world of fashion. (Please be nice, I'm new at this!)

The classic shirt dress has been such a key trend throughout 2015 and can be incorporated into any style. For me, shirt dresses have been an essential throughout Summer as they are so easy to throw on. Add some cute boots and your outfit is done, it's as simple as that!

Taking the shirt dress trend through to Autumn, I spotted this printed beauty on Boohoo and snatched it up right away. The monochrome pattern makes it so easy to wear in the colder months but I'm not one to wear much colour throughout the year anyway.

Dress - Boohoo / Coat - Primark / Watch - c/o Daniel Wellington / Boots - Vagabond

I have become a right shirt dress addict, in fact I already have my eye on a couple more from Boohoo and Missguided!

What has been your favourite trend of the year?

  5. Really like the print on this! I (shockingly) do not own any shirt dresses, despite owning too many shirts - I feel like once I start I won't stop haha! Ooh and lovely watch ;) how classic looking! These days I just put on jeans + jumper and that's it for me because 1) too cold 2) errr yeah too cold.

    1. You are definitely missing out on a shirt dress... But yes, they are quite addicting and you will more than likely end up with quite the collection!
Can never go wrong with jeans and a jumper (that's basically what I live in unless I'm feeling fancy)! x

  24. LOVE shirtdresses. I think they're some of the most versatile pieces and you can really pair anything with it. I love pairing mine with sandals in the summer and over the knee boots in the winter. Lovely post, thank you for sharing!

  26. I love the pattern on the shirt dress, it looks beautiful. With it being monochrome as well it looks especially easy to wear all through the year. I'm not often one for shirts so I haven't really looked into shirt dresses, but if there are more that look as gorgeous as this, I may start!
