Discounted Favourites at Direct Cosmetics

If there's something that most people know about me, it's that I'm a make up hoarder. My collection is forever growing and I'm always having to buy new storage so that I actually have room for it! When the UK based brand Direct Cosmetics got in touch with me offering to send me a few items in exchange for a review, you just know that I was going to say yes.

Direct Cosmetics stock a range of brands, and I mean loads. From high end brands such as YSL and Becca, to drugstore brands like L'Oreal and Bourjois, you're honestly spoilt for choice. Not only do they stock such fab brands, but the prices are amazing and I can't wait to share with you what I got!

When using these sites in the past, the quality hasn't been all that great but it's safe to say Direct Cosmetics have certainly changed my mind on that. Everything was in perfect condition, completely untouched and actually the legit product (something which I have had issues with in the past when it came to buying bargain make up). Now, onto the actual products...

+ Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair (7ml)
RRP: £16.99
DC Price: £5.99
This is a product that is constantly being hyped about. If you're into skincare and beauty, there's not a chance that you won't know what this is. Due to the hype, I have been meaning to get my hands on the Advanced Night Repair for quite some time but have never taken the plunge because of the price. I ain't got the money to spend that much on one product, please. Nevertheless, it really is as amazing as everyone says it is. I use a couple of drops every other night which leaves my skin looking refreshed in the morning due to how it evens out my skin tone and reduces red patches.

+ Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream (30ml)
RRP: £21
DC Price: £4.99
Yet another very talked about skincare product, the famous Eight Hour Cream. I will warn you now, this product does have a bit of an off-putting smell but that doesn't fault the actual cream at all! The Eight Hour Cream leaves my skin feeling so soft and moisturised as well as helping my horrendous dry patches (damn you cold weather). It absolutely lives up to the hype and I'm so pleased I have found somewhere that sells it for significantly cheaper than the RRP.

+ Bourjois 3 Little Pots Round Eyeshadow
RRP: £20.97
DC Price: £8.99
I have loved Bourjois as a brand since forever and adore their baked blushers. I knew I had to get my hands on some of the baked eyeshadows if I ever came across them. I will place swatches at the end of the post but let me tell you, the pigmentation of these shadows is incredible. The colours in the set I chose are perfect for either day or night time, depending on how heavy you want to wear them and I can't wait to use them for a brown smoky eye when I go out later in the month.

+ L'Oreal Superliner Gel Intenza - Golden Black
RRP: £10.99
DC Price: £3.90
Last but not least we have a gel liner. I went through a love/hate relationship with gel liner back when I was around 16/17. One day I'd have the hang of it, and the next I'd be looking like a panda. Regardless of my horrible make up days, I wanted to give it another go. I don't know if it's just my eyeballs but this liner actually has a shimmer to it which surprisingly, I do like and for £3.90, you can't complain really. Although I would probably switch the brush to my Zoeva Liner brush, it glides along the skin extremely smoothly making it super easy to get a straight line, something that people with shaky hands (me) struggle with.

Swatches: L-R, Bourjois Baked Eyeshadows & L'Oreal Liner

Overall, I am really pleased with everything I received and can happily say that they are all going to make regular appearances in my make up and skincare routines. Go ahead and check out the Direct Cosmetics website and see what bargains you can get your hands on!

What are your thoughts on discounted make up outlets? I'd love to hear them!

  5. You got some really good bargains here! I´d love to try out the Estee Lauder Adanced Night Repair and the Eight Hour Cream (mostly because everyone and their mother loves them, so they have to be good!). But I´m never keen on spending that much money on a single product, so I might need to try to get this bargain now!

  7. I LOVE discounted makeup sites, but I don't think I've ever come across Direct Cosmetics, so thank you for sharing! Fragrance Direct is one of my faves for discount makeup. I love the 8 Hour Cream when suffering really bad dry lips, and I really need to get a new bottle. The shadows look awesome too, you chose such gorgeous, versatile shades!
