10 Unhappy Things (Holiday Edition)

Way back in April, you may remember that I did a post discussing the 10 Happy Things I like about holidays, click here for a lil refresh of ya memory. I've been umm-ing and ahh-ing about whether to make an unhappy post because I didn't really wanna be a negative nancy, but because my original post had such a good response... Why the heck not?

1. Sunbed stealers. You know the ones, they sneak down to the pool at 7am to claim their beds but you don't actually see them 'til 3pm. WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING ALL DAY?

2. Mosquitos. There's nothing more thrilling *sarcasm* than getting back to your room after a long, hard day of sunbathing, and having a competition of "who has the most bites" with your fam. Bugger. Off.

3. Delays. Sure, delays aren't too bad if you're stuck in a UK airport - you can shop and drink to your heart's content. But when you're abroad and waiting to come home, that's a whole other story.

4. Pushy Shop Assistants. I know they're trying to earn a living, but mate. My days of buying beaded keyrings with my entire group of friend's names on are over.

5. Tomato Face. Is there anything more embarrassing than walking round a resort for the next week with a bright red, sunburnt face? That's something no amount of tinted moisturiser can cover up.

6. Luggage Allowances. I like shoes. I own a lot of shoes. I want to bring all the shoes, and I can't. This makes me very unhappy.

7. Ice Cream Disasters. The weather is hot and it's humid. It's basically a race against time to eat that ice cream before it ends up as an unappealing, sticky mess on your lap.

8. The whole "bikini body" fad. Do you really think I'm going to restrict myself on what I eat and work out everyday just because my holiday is in two weeks? Nah, I'm not about that life.

9. Turkish Supermarkets. To be honest, this isn't really a complaint... I'm just not fluent in Turkish. Direct me to the biscuits and iced tea and I'm happy as larry.

10. Coming Home. Because no matter how much we want our own beds and our pets, you'd rather just have them shipped out to you so you never have to leave.

As much as us Brits love a good moan, I literally cannot wait to get on that plane and be on my way to sun, kebabs and cocktails. Two more weeks to go. I'm planning on doing a couple more holiday posts in the run up to my hol just because y'know, I wanna, so watch out for that guys and gals.

Also thank you so much to everyone who read my previous post, 'Why Are You Still Travelling to Turkey?'. It's had such a fab response and I appreciate each and everyone of you, have a slice of pizza (or 5) on me!

  4. Such a truthful post, I can agree with pretty much everything said here, apart from the Turkish super markets, I can just about handle Spanish ones! But you've forgot one thing! Sandy beaches, which results in sand hiding in all your nooks and crannies and you can find some in your clothes and pockets weeks after you've returned!! Hope you have a great holiday!!

    1. Thanks lovely! To be fair, any foreign supermarket is equally as confusing as the rest. Omg yes how could I forget to moan about the sand?! If I do a part 2, that'll definitely be top of the list haha! x

  5. I'll take the whole pizza, thank you very much, haha! I totally get what you mean when you mentioned mosquitos... Those little buggers have appeared out of no where recently, and I hate the fact that when I want to go outside, I feel like a mermaid swarmed by fish (but in a very unpleasant way). This post made me smile xx

    1. I hate the people who steal the sun beds that are in the shade, and move them to the sun... Like no bitch, I want to be in the shade, keep them in the shade! x
