Top 9 Travel Essentials

I have a lot of stuff. A lot of stuff that I want to take on holiday with me. Y'see, I don't seem to understand the meaning of "pack lightly", that'll never be an option for me... If I'm leaving the house for longer than a period of 24 hours, everything's gotta come with me.

That being said, I am so on it this year when it comes to packing. I've bought (almost) all my toiletries, outfits are ready to slay and my legs are shaved. Ok I lied about the last part, my legs still need shaving but I'mma keep pretending I've got my life together.

Despite my forever growing list of things I need to pack, I thought I'd show you all a few of my essentials... AKA all the crap I lug around the airport and onto the plane which usually results in me with a dead shoulder. You know the drill.

A Good Book
Or 10. Unfortunately, I am one of those people who doesn't get much reading done when I'm at home - totally Twitter's fault. When I'm on holiday I end up going through books like I don't know what, mostly because I'm usually halfway through my first one by the time I'm off the plane.

Passport
Clearly this is the most important item to have, if you're going abroad of course. Don't just double check, quadruple check. Oh, and get yourself one of those snazzy travel document folders, that way you won't be fumbling around in your pockets awkwardly whilst the check in staff stare you down.

Electronics
I'm talking all the electronics, you'll thank me later when you're sat bored out of your mind in the departures lounge. This year, my Kindle, iPod and (obviously) my phone are all coming on vacay with me - Don't forget your adapters people!

Funky Sunglasses
A cute pair of sunglasses is vital to a holiday OOTD, need I say more? Plus, if you're arriving at your destination during the day, it's best not to be blinded as soon as you step off the plane. I highly recommend Topshop and Quay Australia for sunnies!

Snacks, Snacks and more Snacks
Let's be real, plane food isn't up to scratch unless you're first class on a long haul flight to New York. Take advantage of Poundland and get stocked up on the share bags of sweeties, the only person you're gonna be sharing with is yourself.

Comfy Clothes
Comfy shoes and comfy clothes make for a cosy flight. Don't stress about what you look like, you're more than likely never going to see these people again. Wear that coffee stained, 5 year old hoodie with pride.

Skincare Bits
Do not misinterpret "bits" as "bring your entire bathroom". Pack the essentials and you're good to go. I like to take with me some form of skin mist that I can easily spritz on my face whilst chillin' by the pool is 40 degree heat.

Summer Fragrance
This year, I'm bringing along my Rosie For Autograph 'Summer Rose' perfume. It smells like an absolute dream and will always remind me of home. I suggest bring along a couple of body mists too, for when you're on the go. Soap & Glory and Victoria's Secret are my go to!

Trusty Olympus Pen
I prefer to refer to my camera as my sidekick, it never leaves my bag. As much as I love my iPhone 6 camera, sometimes it just isn't up to scratch in comparison to the Olympus. I can't wait to get snapping away.

It may seem like I have a lot of stating the obvious essentials, huh? But you know me, I like to be practical - trust me on this one.

Before I love you and leave you, I'd like to let you all know that my gal Charlotte has set up her own little graphic design business. She'll be creating blog headers/signatures/whatever else you need for very reasonable prices (plus she's a bae). If you'd like more info, click here.

  3. So with you on the snacks, especially if you're going somewhere you can't get good chocolate! My most important thing tho is books. On poolside holidays I generally go through a book a day so I take about ten for a weeks holiday!

  5. I'm exactly the same in terms of packing - I feel like I can't be without ANYTHING! This is such a good checklist! Me and my boyfriend always bring a pack of cards as well for when the boredom eventually kicks in and your electricals die *cue weeping*
