New Lush Bits (First Impressions)

As promised in my Lush Arndale Store Launch post, here are my first impressions of the goodies I received at my first blog event.I'm always super grateful to be given products by brands, but these in particular meant so much because y'know, it's LUSH! I actually hadn't ever tried any of the products I received either which made it so much more exciting.

First of all we have a Lush lipstick in the shade 'True'. We were given the option of 3 shades to choose from but I decided to go for the nude, the safe option right? Looking back, I kinda wished I opted for the bright pink but never mind. We learn from our mistakes.

As someone who is a huge Lush fanatic, I haven't ever actually looked at the make up simply because I never really heard much about it. 'True' doesn't give off much colour at all, as you can probably tell from the swatch above but it makes a lovely "your lips but better" colour. The formula of the lipsticks aren't great either but I could have just got a bad one. I find it slightly dry and waxy whereas I prefer a much more smoother application - but again, that's just me!

Up next is the Wiccy Magic Muscles Massage Bar. Again, another range of products I've never thought to look at before but my god. I'm officially a massage bar convert. This one in particular that I received is made with cocoa butter, shea butter and all sorts of delicious smelling oils. It smells like Christmas in a massage bar due to the cinnamon and peppermint oils, amazing. If you haven't given them a go, I highly recommend trying this one. It leaves your skin feeling so soft and nourished as well as being brilliant to use on your legs after shaving.

Only recently have I got into cleansers. As in, actual cleansers. Not just some micellar water bunged on a cotton pad. (See previous skincare post for my current fave cleanser)

We were given quite a generous helping of the 'Angels on Bare Skin' cleanser, a product that I had heard countless raving reviews about so I was excited to give it a try to say the least. Unfortunately though, this isn't the cleanser for me, soz. My heart lies with Ultrabland, always. Although it did do a fab job at actually cleansing my face (as it should), I didn't enjoy how messy it was. If you aren't familiar with this product then you essentially break a small chunk off and run it under warm water to create a paste. I do love how gentle it felt on the skin but nope, I'm not a fan - sorry Lush!

Onto my favourite item of them all, the 'Catastrophe Cosmetic' face mask. Lush face masks are one of the skincare products I absolutely could never live without, they're incredible. The scent of Catastrophe Cosmetic is what initially drew me in, I'm obsessed with it. As it's made primarily with blueberries, it smells of... Yep, you guessed it, blueberries! This face mask is perfect to use if your skin is having a mad break out as you can feel the calming effects immediately. I'm definitely going to be repurchasing once I've ran out.

What are your must have Lush skincare products? Recommend me some of your faves!

  1. I love the Lush massage bars! It's a shame the lipstick wasn't great as it's a nice nude shade.

  4. Dry lipsticks are are horrible. They tug and pull at your lips. If you have the slightest dehydration, it can make them bleed :/

  7. Cosmetic Catastrophe is such a lovely face mask, I love it for when I'm having breakouts. Another good one is Mask of Magnaminty. True looks like such a lovely shade, I might need to pick one of their lipsticks up as I haven't tried one yet :) xx

  9. I LOVE Lush! Funnily, I've tried all of these except for the cleanser. I really want to try out more Lush skincare, as I've tried a cleanser before, and was really put off. Loved the post! xx

  10. I've yet to try a Lush product that seriously blows me away and I will always constantly repurchase! I just don't seem to be able to be a lushie! I have a video coming next week of my thoughts on some stuff I bought and while it's all good - could be tweaked to be better - and I will probs repurchase 2/4 items, I'm still not like I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT THIS. That said, I REALLY wanna try a face mask next, I've heard loads of good things about Catastrophe Cosmetic and also Mask of Magnaminty but my skin isn't that blemish prone so I'm not sure if it's worth getting. The massage bar sounds amazing though - defo one that sounds worth trying to me! I love anything that makes my legs lovely and soft haha.
